Pronunciation >> Pronunciation Materials >> If your students find two words with a similar sound, these are put together like you would with identical numbers going together in a normal game of dominoes. This one practices aspirated and unaspirated "h" phonemes.

H: Aspirated or Not?

As in normal dominoes, like pairs must be put together. So, for example, 'house' can be put next to 'hot'. Cut these strips across so that each dominoe has two words on it - one at either end.

The two sounds practiced here are:

hotel hour
holiday honour
ham hawk
honest happy
home sigh
unhappy dishonest
hunt heir
hair happen
herb hill
hinge white
