On this page, you will find example speaking tests to help you prepare for the Speaking part of the A2 Key exam.
The speaking section is divided into TWO parts and involves both speaking alone and speaking with another candidate.

1. Give longer answers when you can.
Examiner: What's your favourite food?

2. Add extra information to yes/no answers.
Examiner: Do you like studying English?
Candidate: Yes.
Candidate: Yes, I like learning new words and talking to my friends in English.

1. If you don't understand something, it's OK to say "Sorry, can you repeat that?" or "I don't understand."
2. Learn simple words to talk about pictures - like "here", "there", "next to", "in the picture", "on the left", "on the right".
3. Practise speaking for about 1 minute about simple topics like your family, your hobbies, or your home.

1. Listen carefully when the other student is speaking. You might need to answer questions about what they say.
2. If you can, practise speaking English with your exam partner before the test.
3. When talking with your partner in the test, try to make it like a real conversation. You can say things like: "Yes, I agree", "I think so too", "What do you think?", "I don't agree because..."
