The following quizzes and exercises are to help you prepare for the Cambridge A2 Key exam, previously known as the Key English Test (KET).

Paper One - Reading & Writing

Part 1 - Real World Reading Multiple Choice

The first part of the A2 Key reading paper is multiple choice, where you read six real-world notices, messages and other short texts and choose the best answer for each question.

Part 2 - Reading Matching

The second part of the A2 Key reading paper is reading matching, where you have to read three similar descriptions of people and then match each of seven questions to the correct person.

Part 3 - Reading Comprehension Multiple Choice

The third part of the A2 Key reading paper is reading comprehension multiple-choice, where you have to read a passage and then answer five multiple-choice questions.

Part 4 - Multiple Choice Cloze

The fourth part of the A2 Key reading paper is multiple choice cloze where you have to choose the correct word from three similar given words.

Part 5 - Open Cloze

The final part of the A2 Key reading paper is open cloze, in which you use only one word to fill each space in a short text. The words required are usually grammatical, such as articles, pronouns, auxiliary verbs, prepositions and so on.

Parts 6 and 7 - Writing

The A2 Key writing tasks are Part 6 and Part 7 of Paper 1 (Reading and Writing). In Part 6, you write an email or note (25+ words) following three given points. In Part 7, you write a story (35+ words) based on three pictures. Each part is worth 15 marks.

Paper Three - Speaking

The A2 Key speaking paper tests basic communication skills in English through short exchanges, picture descriptions and simple discussions. The test lasts around 8-10 minutes and consists of two parts.
