Working from Home: The New Normal?

A recent survey by WorkLife Solutions shows that more people are choosing to work from home than ever before. The study found that 45% of UK office workers now work from home at least two days per week.

Sarah Thompson, who manages a team at Brighton Digital Services, says the change has been positive. "Our staff are happier and actually work longer hours now. They save time and money on transport, too."

However, not everyone supports this trend. Peter Williams from the British Office Management Association warns that working from home can be challenging. "Some workers feel lonely and find it difficult to separate work time from personal time," he explains.

Companies are responding to these concerns. Telecoms giant Connect UK now offers special training to help home workers organise their day better. They also provide equipment like proper office chairs and computer screens to make home offices more comfortable.

Despite some challenges, most workers say they prefer having the choice to work from home, at least part of the time.
