Hi Anna,

I've been reviewing the performance of the Product Development department for the past few months, and the results are worrying. The output is lower than expected, and deadlines are being missed more frequently. I think we need to address this before it becomes a bigger issue. The team has missed many deadlines in the last nine months.

Could you take a look at the latest reports and share your thoughts? Maybe we can brainstorm some ideas for improvement.

Best,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for bringing this up. I went through the reports, and I agree, the situation is concerning. The team seems confused about which work is most important. This might be something we need to discuss with the department heads.

Additionally, the employee satisfaction surveys indicate morale in that department has been steadily declining. I'm worried this might be contributing to the underperformance. When people aren't happy at work, they don't work as well.

Let me know when you're free to discuss this further.

Best,
Anna

Hi Anna,

I'm free this afternoon if you want to set up a quick meeting. You've made a good point about morale. Several team members have said they have too much work to do. If that's the case, it's something we definitely need to look into.

Also, should we think about involving HR at this stage? They might have insights from a staff welfare perspective.

Let me know what works for you.

Best,
David

Hi David,

This afternoon works for me. Let's meet at 3 PM in my office. We should talk to HR to help us understand what's happening in the team. We can also go over potential solutions. Maybe some restructuring is in order, or we need to adjust how tasks are delegated.

See you later,
Anna

Hi David,

Thanks for the meeting yesterday. I think we covered a lot of ground. Starting a mentoring program might help make the team happier. We should follow up with HR and the department heads early next week to discuss next steps.

Best,
David
