Beginner Listening Practice

Maria: Hi, Tom! How are you?

Tom: Hi, Maria! I'm good, thanks. What about you?

Maria: I'm fine. So, what do you do every day?

Tom: Well, I usually wake up at 7 o'clock. I have breakfast and then I go to work. I work as a teacher at a primary school.

Maria: Oh, that sounds interesting! What time do you start work?

Tom: I start at 8:30. My classes begin at 9:00.

Maria: And how long are your classes?

Tom: Each class is one hour. I have three classes in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Maria: What do you do after work?

Tom: I finish at 4:00. After work, I sometimes go to the gym or I go home and cook dinner.

Maria: Do you have time to relax?

Tom: Yes, in the evenings. I usually read a book or watch TV before I go to bed. Or I take my dog for a walk.

Maria: Oh, do you have a dog?

Tom: Yes, I have a Labrador.

Maria: What colour is it?

Tom: It's chocolate brown.

Maria: What is your dog's name?

Tom: His name is Charlie, he's four years old.

Maria: I want to meet him! Do you like your routine?

Tom: Yes, I do! It keeps me busy but I enjoy it.
