POSTCARD 1:
Hi Mum!

Santa Barbara is beautiful! The weather is very hot and sunny. I am at the beach every day. The sea is warm and very blue. The food here is good but expensive. Yesterday I ate at a Mexican restaurant - the tacos were amazing! The beach has lots of surfers and volleyball players. In the evening, I walk on the pier and watch the sunset. There are lots of nice small shops near my hotel. The ice cream shop makes 31 different flavours!

Love, Emma x

POSTCARD 2:
Dear John,

Greetings from Santa Barbara! The beaches are nice but too busy for me. I prefer walking in the mountains behind the town. The views are fantastic. The weather is very hot - too hot for me! But the ice cream shops here are very good. I go hiking early in the morning when it's cooler. There are beautiful flowers everywhere and I saw some deer yesterday. The morning market is great - lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. The oranges here taste better than at home!

From, Sarah

POSTCARD 3:
Hello Kate,

I'm having a great time in Santa Barbara. The town is small but very pretty. All the buildings are white with red roofs. I love the Mexican food here but I don't like the pizza - it's not as good as in London! The people are very friendly. The beach is perfect for swimming. There's a small zoo near my hotel with funny monkeys. I take the bus to different beaches every day. The buses are cheap and the drivers are helpful. My favourite beach has a small cafe that makes great sandwiches.

Miss you!
David
