Wild Cats of the World
Where They Live
The snow leopard lives in the cold mountains of Asia. This beautiful cat has thick, grey fur with black spots that helps it stay warm in the snow. It has a very long tail that works like a scarf - the snow leopard wraps it around its body when it sleeps!
Into the Forest
Deep in the forests of Africa lives the African golden cat. It has lovely red-gold fur that shines in the sunlight. This shy wild cat is very hard to see because it only comes out at night to hunt. It likes to catch birds and small animals that live on the forest floor.
In the Rainforest
The clouded leopard makes its home in the rainforests of Southeast Asia. It gets its name from the special shapes on its fur that look like clouds. This amazing cat can climb down trees head-first, and it has the longest teeth of any cat its size. At night, it moves through the trees like a shadow.
