Upper Intermediate Level >> Reading And Writing Materials >> This is such a simple idea that can be adapted for so many levels and purposes. Everyday comic strips have the dialogue bubbles blanked out and students have to create the dialogue.
Comic Strip Three.

It is a good idea to ask some questions about the characters to help 'set the scene' before the students start writing.
-Who are the people in the pictures?
-How old are they?
-What are they wearing?
-What time of the day is it?
-In what building are the people?
-etc, etc
If you want the students to do more writing than just a few speech bubbles, you could always set them a full write up of the story for homework.
